(Nachrichten), a leading provider of Internet services to web hosting companies and ISPs worldwide, today announced the appointment of Internet veteran Bill Sweetman to General Manager of its large domain name portfolio. In this new role, Sweetman will be dedicated to continually enhancing the quality and profitability of Tucows's domain name portfolio and related programs.

As General Manager of the domain name portfolio, Sweetman is responsible for developing and executing a strategy to further monetize the Tucows domain portfolio for the Company and its wholesale customers, including the Tucows Parked Pages program. Sweetman will work with a dedicated staff to manage across all of Tucows's cross-functional teams and ensure that customer input is integrated into all efforts.

Sweetman is based in Toronto, and will operate within the product management division of Tucows, led by Ken Schafer, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing.

Prior to joining Tucows, Sweetman was Vice-President, Internet strategy at MacLaren MRM, the digital arm of MacLaren McCann, Canada's largest advertising agency.
